Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis from a four-year ABET accredited engineering program required.  M.S. in Engineering is a plus. 
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of related experience be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  
  • Qualified candidates must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and have completed or be able to obtain a Professional Engineering license in the State of Texas within one year (Licensure in New Mexico is a plus).
  • Experience in the renewable energy and oil and gas industries are a plus. 
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (TX/NM) is a plus. 
  • Candidate must be highly motivated; customers focused and work well in a team environment. 
  • Candidate must also have the ability to manage and lead project tasks with a heavy workload. 
  • Must possess client interaction and organizational skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience in environmental consulting including permit development and regulatory compliance or related experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with design and modeling software (i.e., Geo-Slope, Seep/Slope modeling or similar, AutoCAD, Civil 3d, etc.) is a plus. 
  • Candidate must be able and available for travel via land and/or air and possess a valid drivers’ license in good standing. 
  • The candidate must be able to walk across rough surfaces that may be muddy and rutted in inclement weather.  The candidate must be able to hear warning signals from heavy machinery that is in motion. Some heavy lifting required, including equipment lifting.  The ability to set and remove a down-hole pump, bail water from monitor wells, utilize a hand-held bucket type auger for sample collection.
  • Work will be split between the Texas offices and field.  Candidate must be willing to travel between Houston, Midland and Austin offices and to project sites in Texas and New Mexico or Oklahoma as needed for the project. 
  • Up to 50% travel will be required and at the start of the career for training purposes and overnight travel in Texas or New Mexico, will be required.  Field work, when required, will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, while wearing fire-retardant clothing (FRC). 
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.
