Heavy Equipment Mechanic:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the fleet equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to wheel loaders, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, man lifts. The heavy equipment mechanic demonstrates responsible work practices with safety as the number one goal. Preforms appropriate preventive maintenance on equipment as well as necessary repairs to keep machines up and running daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to perform services, diagnostics, part replacement
  • Must have own tools
  • Knows how to use/willing to learn computer tracking software
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Identify problems and come up with viable solutions
  • Has knowledge of Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere parts and systems
  • Full-time position with overtime opportunities

Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
  • Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing
  • Ability to drive truck with a manual transmission
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Needs excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations is required
  • Works under moderate supervision
